Online Payments: What you shouldn’t do

Picture this: I’ve come to your beautiful, carefully laid out website. I want to buy what you’re selling. I look at the range of stuff. I find exactly the stuff I’m looking for, you have my colour, you have my size, it’s perfect. I put the stuff in my cart. I go to the checkout. I enter my details. I go to the payment screen. It asks me to choose payment system. Hmm, there’s a choice. Hmm, what do I do now? PayPal or Direct Bank Transfer? I’ve never used PayPal. Hmm, I pay my mortgage by Direct Bank Transfer, I know how to do that. Yes, I’ll do that. I finish the checkout and go to log on to my online banking. Hmm, what’s my password? Where’s that stupid code generator thing? Oh yes, it’s on that little table upstairs. Where did I put it? Oh I know, it’s in my desk. Oh look, the fridge, I might just grab myself a beer. Hey the Simpsons is on. Nice. Maybe a few chips too………..
